Thailand vol.3 - Pattaya
TRANSPORT
We got to Pattaya also by renting a car with a driver. We had the car seats for children from Denmark. Some rental companies have also car seats, but sometimes not. The car ride went smoothly, but I got a massive headache from entertaining the kids. Luckily the pharmacies are open almost 24/7 and you can get also prescription drugs there based on your symptoms. Kevin got me some drug and luckily it got better. It is quite challenging to administer massive headache while having active and noisy kids around. 🙈

HOTEL
We stayed in the Amari Hotel in North Pattaya. The hotel was one of the reason, why I wanted to go to Pattaya. 😊 It is the same hotel chain where we stayed in Maldives and Koh Samui. We really enjoyed the breakfast and they had nice set up for kids. It is also one of the hotels, where I am part of the loyalty program and it really paid of as we were assigned room at the members top floors with a great view.

The hotel had many swimming pools and nice kids club area around the pools. The only down side was that the pool temperature was a bit cold for kids and I think they were also tired of swimming, so they spent quite some time during the 5 days in Pattaya in the kids club. Luckily they even let us to leave Logan there and we could just chill by the pool.

Beach was across the road from the hotel and I think in Pattaya city area, non of the hotels have direct access to the beach. The beach was fine and had amazing sunset. There were marked areas for swimming.

PATTAYA CITY
Pattaya City was surprisingly clean and there were plenty of trash pins also some traffic lights to cross the road. Terminal 21 that was a big mall was close to the hotel. There was also night market every evening where we ate most of the time.

The hotel also had a good Italian restaurant Prego where ate couple of times and enjoyed the sunset. The good thing about the fact that it was not so hot and humid was that there were no mosquitos. I did have to put on some long sleaves after the sun went down.

As a day trip we went with Kevin´s mum and half brothers to the fish market. We got the local taxi but the uber also works well. You can buy all the fresh fish and shrimps there and then ask them to be grilled for you in local restaurant for a small fee. The smart thing is to have some cloves and wet wipes to keep hands clean from shrimp. This is definitely a place to go when you enjoy the fresh seafood. There was also a nice playground at the park by the market where I was playing with the kids while the others were shopping.

The Sanctuary of Truth Museum
This museum is like Sagrade Familie that never get´s fully ready. Everything is handmade from the wood. The museum is a bit of a walk away but if you have small kids they can drive you there with a golf car. They have created nice park around and there is variety of attractions.

Overall, I would describe Pattaya like a big city beach vacation, maybe not with the prettiest beaches (unless you take to the ferry trip to local islands that we did not do this time), but still good place for relaxation, good food and parties. I would say that hotel prices are also cheaper than in Krabi and Phuket.
